Public Transport Support Group

This site is exclusively for CAMRA volunteers involved in campaigning for the use of public transport to visit pubs, and especially rural pubs.

The objectives of CAMRA's Public Transport Support Group (PTSG) are to:

  • Promote use of public transport to all pub users as a method of getting to the pub, and especially in relation to rural pubs whose future viability has been impacted by drink-drive legislation.
  • Encourage public transport operators to promote the use of their services to travel to/from pubs, and especially pubs in rural areas,

To achieve these objective, it is the remit of PTSG to:

  • Support CAMRA's Pub Campaigns Committee on ways to promote the use of public transport to get to the pub.
  • Advise and support a team of regional coordinators on the most effective ways they and branches can achieve the group’s objectives.
  • To explore initiatives on behalf of the Campaign with public transport operators, proposing schemes that further the objectives of the group.
  • To offer advice and support, on any aspect of public transport, when requested, to all parts of the Campaign.
